Start your beauty regime stress-free by exfoliating your lips. This will ultimately ensure your pout is supple and matte-lipstick *ready*.

What is the best way to exfoliate your lips? We found a variety of answers in celebrity makeup artist Nicole ‘Pinky’ Thompson’s new beauty book, ‘Making It Up’ and thought we’d share them with you:

****1. Invest in a lip scrub!****

According to Pinky, a lip scrub and conditioner can do great things and even sometimes taste good. We love Lush’s ‘Mint Julips’ or Frank Body’s coffee flavoured lip scrub.

**2.  Make your own scrub**

Got sugar and a lip balm? ‘It’s as simple as that’, Pinky says. Rub it all over your lips and make sure the texture is coarse and rough.

**3. Use a  face exfoliator**

*This is not a drill*. Pinky swears that a face exfoliator used dry over the lips works just fine.

**4. Exfoliating wipes work like a treat!**

Same, but *different*. This is an item that Pinky takes everywhere in her kit.

**5. Your toothbrush can do more than you think...**

If you can’t find any of the above, we hope you have a toothbrush. 'Use a dry brush on wet lips and scrub away.'
